The OYCF and The 1990 Institute are pleased to announce the winners of the Joint OYCF – The 1990 Institute Research Fellowship for 2007. The 1990 Institute has granted a $5,000 Research Fellowship to each of the following two projects:

Yuen Yuan Ang (Ph.D. candidate in political science, Stanford University ), The Partial Reform of Public Services in Post-Reform China ;

Xiaobin He (Ph.D. candidate in sociology, Stanford University ), Property Rights and Local Government in the Enterprise Restructuring in Transitional China .

This year, we received twelve research proposals from the U.S. , Europe , Singapore and China . Our applicants included both Ph.D. students and faculty members. We truly appreciate all our applicants' strong dedication to research relating to China as well as their support for our Program. OYCF will continue to work with The 1990 Institute to support as many qualified projects as possible in the coming years.

The success of our Research Fellowship Program depends on your continued support. We congratulate this year's winners, but would also like to thank all the applicants, and encourage you all to participate in this Program by bringing to us your best project proposals.
